地处江汉平原西端，沮漳河流域西侧，位于宜昌、当阳、枝江、荆州交界处的冲积平原地带。南北约1600水Ⅲ东西约1400米，叠压在新石器时代晚期遗存之上。现存夯土南城垣残长86米，底宽13。4米，残高1。4米。趴壕距城垣10～34米，长86米，宽9．8米，深1米。一号台基位于城址北部，曾出土“秦王卑命竟坪王之定敉凑戎”铜钟和大型青铜构件及绳纹筒瓦、板瓦。
