The bronze bell, the temple for the time, set the masses and sometimes percussion instruments. There are two kinds of shapes: Brahman bell and half bell. It is also known as the bell, fishing bell, bell, Hong Zhong, whale bell, pogon, whale, Hua Zhong and giant bell. Most of them belong to bronze, with copper bells as the most common, a few of them are made of iron, generally about 150 cm high and 60 cm in diameter, in the form of a fisherman carved into a dragon head at the upper end, with two relatively lotus-shaped collision seats at the lower end, called eight leaves, collision seats, hereinafter referred to as grass, the lower edge of the claw; the above is divided into two parts of pool and milk, and there are small breasts. The protrusions are surrounded side by side, and the strips that connect the collision seat at right angles are called gown lifting, also known as six lanes. In addition, there is a cylinder-shaped cylinder beside the fisherman to connect the inside. This kind of clock hangs mostly in the bell tower as a call to the public or to tell the time sooner or later.
The system of temple bronze bell originated from India, but the bell is called Qianzhi in this area. For example, in Volume 24 of Zengyi A Hanjing, it says, "Ananda is going to the lecture hall, holding Qianzhi and saying: I hit the letters and drums like this today, all Buddhist disciples should collect them." There are differences between wooden clocks, Shi Zhong and bronze clocks. They are exquisitely carved and hung on the clock stand. In addition, different bells represent different signals, such as "temple bell", that is, Buddhist temple bell. In the "Lao Xiu Baizhang Qing Rule? Shuangyan Hui", it is said, "Ring the bell, monk temple bell, temple bell, and Abbot to burn incense in front of Buddha." In the "magic chapter", he said, "the temple bell, the abbot will sing seven times in the morning and evening. Whoever sets up the upper Hall of the people will receive the corresponding attack with the monk bell. It can be seen that Dian Zhong is the signal to gather the upper Hall of the masses.
